There are numerous schools located in Seattle, WA and in the Washington state in general that offer quality medical assisting programs. Medical assists are some of the most important people in the medical office, they are the backbone of any medical facility. Medical assists are the Renaissance men and women who will learn many skills over time under the guidance of physicians.

    The duties of the medical assistant will vary depending on the type of medical facility they are working in. Many medical assistants will check vital signs, keep filing records, bookkeeping, explaining treatment procedures to patients, prepare laboratory samples, fill out insurance forms, answering telephones, draw blood, authorize drug refills as directed, scheduling appointments, among other duties.     While there is much to learn when becoming a medical assistant, many of those who become certified will learn many skills on the job when hired. Many medical assisting degrees will be earned in 2 years. Becoming certified should be highly considered because the chance of getting hired will increase.
